PICASSO CAT CLIMBER

I have cats. I love cats. They pretty much go where they want. One day I had an epiphany - I want to make a cat friendly shelf that is artsy and great to look at for people, but totally created for the kitties. Picasso is a favorite of mine and I felt the cubism style leant itself perfectly for kitty privacy. After a little googling I found the perfect Picasso sketch I’d create my masterpiece from! The images below represent my process in the creation of the Picasso Cat Climber. It’s two-sided so it looks great from the outside as well as inside. It’s functional as a plant holder (cat friendly plants only, of course!) and the cats climb through, sit/sleep/hide inside or hang out on top. It might just be my favorite creation ever!

BERLIN PUBLIC LIBRARY STEP MURAL

Chris Kalupa, the Director of the Berlin Public Library, asked if I’d be interested in doing a mural for the library. Excited, but having never done a mural, I did some research, asked some questions and gave Chris a proposal. The library accepted the offer and we started the layouts for the library steps mural. It turned out painting on the risers of the steps isn’t the easiest, but it turned out well…

COMMISSIONS

My father and a friend have been making different items out of wood and selling them in the area. I’ve been commissioned to paint a few of these items and I’m also doing my own that I sell. I love doing the design work on 3D items!

WELCOME BENCH

The Rendezvous Tavern in Berlin, WI is an historic tavern known as the beer and a shot bar. The owner wanted a welcoming bench out front to match the building.

SIDE TABLES for AUCTION

My father built these stools (also could be used as a table or plant stand) and wanted to have them painted and put into a church auction. I’ve been dreaming of plants crawling over these stools so I decided to paint them and my new summer hibiscus plants were the inspiration.
