February, Black History month, was right around the corner and our client wanted to make sure the Heineken Brand was out there getting noticed. It was a two-day turnaround - ‘say this, bus wrap, up all month’. When I was told all of this by my account counterpart I said this is crazy, doesn’t fit the brand, with the guidelines as they are it feels like we’re over the top with this…bad idea. Give us at least a couple days to think about a better way to solve this ask. No time, client is adamant. So, against our better judgement, using the Heineken guidelines and the clients words, we put together a piece of signage. I knew it wasn’t a good idea, but boy, I didn’t envision it being THIS bad…
