IZZY’S DOCKSIDE DINER & PUB
Originally the Berlin Family Restaurant & Izzy’s Pub, the current owners bought the restaurant/bar in 2012 and were looking for a refresh. Turning a family restaurant into a cool, unique, memorable experience was our goal. They wanted a new name and fresh new look that reflected their persona: fun, irreverent, unconventional and a love for vintage. The location is ideal - the only restaurant/bar on the Fox River, right in the middle of the small town of Berlin, WI.
The winning name checked off those qualities: the cool vintage vibe of a diner and fun one has on/near water. Welcome to Izzy’s Dockside Diner & Pub!
Izzy’s Dockside Diner & Pub is a breakfast-all-day, burger & pizza joint on the Fox River in Berlin, Wisconsin. Home to the Bombshell Burgers and Bloody Mary Meals-in-a-Glass, sign-ins and meat raffles.
Building the brand out with a new look & feel and the tone of voice came naturally as we started working on the logo and menus.
The first menu featured hand-lettered style fonts, some actual hand lettering and custom art to bring the new restaurant to life. Black backgrounds create good contrast and an edge-y feel - to differentiate from the family restaurant. Bombshell burger loyalty program and drink chips help to give them a great new start!

Team sponsorship and customizing ‘IZZY’
is a great way to extend the brand.
We needed a new IZZY to add some fun to the bowling team - a quick brainstorm with the owners and a few rough sketches by me and pin-riding, ball-rolling IZZY was born!
Looking to expand on the outdoor seating, utilize the river more and try to get a grant for the expansion, I was asked to create a quick visual of how the restaurant could look from the other side of the river with dock seating by the bar end and the restaurant side.
